“I recently joined the Friendly Foot team after using the Lavender Tea Shoe Deodorizer during a spontaneous 20 mile run along the California coast. When I took my shoes off after my run, I expected my nostrils to be bombarded with the pungent stench that only running 20 miles could cook up. However, to my surprise, the lavender tea scent from the Friendly Foot deodorizer had completely masked the built up stench. Now, I will never run again without first applying Friendly Foot.”

Beth Rodden grew up in the flatlands of the Central Valley of California. She started climbing at the age of 14 at her local climbing gym. Climbing immediately captured her attention and has been an integral part of her life ever since. She traveled the country and world for competitions while she was still in high school, earning the title of three time Junior National Champion and two time Adult National Champion. Shortly before she graduated high school, she fell in love with the mountains and wanted nothing more than to travel the world exploring climbing areas. Over the next decade she became one of the most accomplished female climbers in the world. Beth has free climbed three routes on El Capitan, the first of any woman. She has also established some of the hardest traditional climbs and sport climbs in the world by a woman, by establishing Meltdown (a 5.14c traditional climb in Yosemite, CA and The Optimist, 5.14b sport climb at Smith Rock, OR).

Beth’s latest adventure is being a new mom to her young boy Theo. She has been excited to be able to share her love of the mountains and climbing with him. On top of that, Beth enjoys working with young climbers. Climbing has been Beth’s passion since childhood and she loves sharing that with young climbers today; working to  develop their skills and enthusiasm into good stewards for the sport. When she’s not climbing she can be found cooking with food from the local farmers market, or hiking in the mountains. She’s also a sucker for good recipes, so if you have any to share, visit her blog and send her questions or suggestions.

“Friendly Foot takes great care of my feet and my boots on race day. After a 9-10 hour race day FF helps keep my feet dryer, boots fresher, and it protects me against pesky foot problems athletes often get. This is a product I wish I had found much sooner, not just for racing, for everyday use in all my footwear!"

Tharyn Richards who is now 26 resides in her hometown of Bellingham, Washington and races competitive vintage motocross. She has taken her love of motocross in a direction unique from others her age by racing historical motocross bikes in a time when new wave motocross technology is at it’s peak. Tharyn is commonly asked why she chooses to race historical bikes; we decided to let her answer that herself.

“I love the people I race with. I love the atmosphere in the pits, it is competitive yet we have each others backs and at the end of the day we are all friends, some like family. Resurrecting and bringing these bikes back to life, giving them a second chance to do what they were built to do is so cool to me, I feel as though we are allowing a great part of history to live in the present. I really feel as though I have gained a deeper appreciation and respect for where this amazing sport began and the pioneers who helped it become what it is today.”

Riding was a passion for Tharyn for many years before she considered entering her first race. She was inspired by her mom Nancy Richards who had been racing for years in the vintage circuit along with her 86 year old friend Paul Nielsen who still races motocross to this day. In 2014 Tharyn and her mom Nancy joined together forming one of the few mother-daughter motocross duos around. For the past 3 years Tharyn and Nancy have traveled together, been each others support crew and even line up and compete in a mother- daughter battle regularly on the track.

Tharyn has won 4 championships and has had some notable accomplishments with 28 first place finishes and 43 podium finishes overall in just 3 years of racing.

Tharyn’s race season is slightly shorter this year as she is embarking on an exciting new adventure as she marries her fiancé Nick this summer, but plans to be back on the track beginning in August.

I spend roughly 6 months in a pair of snowboard or Muck Boots. My feet take a beating during the winter and I’ve found that Friendly Foot helps keep my feet dry, happy and not so smelly.  Living in 76 square feet and having smelly feet is a recipe for disaster!
